Essential Functions:
- Diagnoses causes of electrical problems or failures for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair in a timely manner.
- Analyze blue prints, schematics and drawings of electrical systems to determine the efficient installation of new or upgraded systems within the district.
- Coordinates with assigned staff and/or other trades for the purpose of completing electrical projects and work orders efficiently.
- Inspects electrical systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
- Installs electrical system components (e.g. lighting, alarms, electrical panels, switches, circuits, scoreboards, timers, street signs, etc.) for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded electrical capabilities.
- Repairs electrical components and/or systems (e.g. motors, circuits, transformers, generators, compressors, switches, intercom systems, cafeteria kitchen equipment, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a safe working condition.
- Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
- Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Conduct periodic inspections and tests of all electrical installations in district buildings as needed to insure safe working conditions.
- Must operate district owned vehicles in a safe and appropriate manner during course of performing regular job duties.
- Respond to and complete all district maintenance work orders as directed in a timely and efficient manner.

- Serve as exemplary role model in professional conduct, dress code, communications, safety and attendance.
- Maintains assigned vehicle, equipment, and tools for the purpose of ensuring availability in a safe operating condition.
- Consistently follow and promote all district safety rules, protocols and regulations.
- Transport a variety of tools, equipment and supplies to various district sites in a safe manner.
- Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and Director of Operations.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Extensive knowledge of electrical maintenance, diagnosis and repair required with some general facility maintenance experience preferred. Must be safety oriented and have the ability to perform all duties using proper and safe techniques and procedures.
Education: HS Diploma or GED equivalent required. Post-secondary technical training is preferred.
Experience: 3-5 years combined experience with electrical maintenance, repair and general facility maintenance preferred.
Certificate/License: Valid and current Indiana driver’s license is required. Must possess or be working toward a Journeyman Electrician certificate.
